Ben Gibbard (above) of Death Cab For Cutie isn't your average guy. He has that studious science teacher look. The big glasses. The corduroy blazer. Not exactly your rock fashion icon.
He also hasn't figured out how to fit in with other bands at MTV gatherings. According to the
Boston Globe, he lied on the red carpet to the television show, Extra, because he didn't know what else to say.
When the reporter asked for details on backstage happenings, Gibbard said-
"We were drinking champagne with Mary J. Blige."
What else are you gonna do right?

Ha! Hilarious. It's true that no one might not know them on Extra yet, but it's scary that Extra even knows who they are...
