Okay Paddy

Okay Paddy can be fit into a pop corner with, at times, Americana tendencies. They came together thanks to cousins Pat Finnerty and Mike Quinn over a decade ago. many lineup changes followed until Hunk, their 2004 EP, was released. Their first full length, The Cactus Has A Point, came out yesterday.

Meanwhile, labelmates The Swims meander in power pop as well.

Their label Prison Jazz compares their album, Ride of the Blueberry Winter to Guided By Voices Bee Thousand. We think that might be going overboard, but we really like what we've heard so far.

They are still mixing punk, garage, new-wave and disco in the best way, that only they can.

Senor Smoke arrived this time last year in the UK, finally seeing release in the US on Metropolis records.

New Ted Leo Demos Surface

Ted Leo is planning on going out on tour next week. He thought he would get us primed by releasing some demos off the new album. On a post on his website, Leo is apologetic for not having the album completed. He also promises to debut at least a few new tracks on the upcoming tour.

Not to mention, Leo is not too keen on the guitar solos of these demos, saying "they will get better."

Becky 'O Donohue, who apparently is on American Idol, has shown up on Maxim's Website

Apparently Jessie and Becky got together two years ago, when no one had ever heard of them. It was a part of Maxim's "Fallacy Baseball" spread.

Hey-call it what you want, but these girls are no fallacy.
