Be Your Own Pet is a band you would not expect to come out of Nashville.
The group formed in 2003, getting their name from an Art Circus song title.
Jemina Pearl might be the new Karen O. with more spunk and fun than you can shake a stick at.
As is the case with their front-woman, these songs are downright irresistible. Great garage rock/punk songs that seep into your skull, and won't leave.
Some have said that the album as a whole is a large pill to swallow, due to it's exhausting energy.
However, there are so many strong moments, that it's hard to deny.
Besides, Thurston Moore discovered them, and got them a record deal. Enough said.

BYOP is good. Full of energy, yes. Exhausting, no. It is too darn much fun to be exhausting.
