Pete Yorn's new album, Nightcrawler came out on Tuesday. Some reviews are in, and they seem to be mixed. Personally, I think it's solid Pete Yorn, with a couple interesting twists.
He explores Americana with the Dixie Chicks backing him on "The Man."
Yorn also goes slightly experimental, bringing in a hint of electropop on "Same Thing," and sounds like the Kinks on "Georgie Boy."
The new album is somewhere between Day I Forgot, and Musicforthemorningafter. Of course, "Music" is a classic, so topping that is going to be tough.
Overall, there are some good moments on Nightcrawler, especially Yorn's take of Warren Zevon's "Splendid Isolation."
If you want a swarm of Yorn's recent live tracks, as well as a nice interview with Pete,
I Am Fuel, You Are Friends has the goods.
