Bob Dylan is Like...Soooo Popularrrrr!
Bob Dylan is bigger than big right now. Maybe it has something to do with his iTunes commercial. Maybe it's the fact that he name drops Alicia Keys on "Thunder on the Mountain," the opening number on Modern Times. Maybe it's the fact that he continues to make great albums into his 60's.
Whatever elixir he's taking, it's still working.
Dylan is the most popular blogged artist over at The Hype Machine, thanks to posts like Aquarium Drunkard's on the Freewheelin Outtakes, and Kwaya Na Kisser with a live Brussels show of Dylan's in 1998.
Not to mention, Dylan's new album, Modern Times is the #1 highest rated album this year by all of the critics. Dylan has a score of 93 over at Metacritic, a site where they compile every critics review, and give it a score.
With reviews like "Intriguing, immediate, and quietly epic, Modern Times must rank among Dylan's finest albums." (Entertainment Weekly)
or Blender-"It radiates the observant calm of old masters who have seen enough life to be ready for anything--Yeats, Matisse, Sonny Rollins."
or Paste Magazine's review- "What makes the music so compelling is not its frame of reference... but the flair and originality with which it's put across."
You start to get the idea that this record might be a strong effort, and it is.
All you need is to read this incredible review by Thom Jurek at allmusic.com, to get the full feel of what Dylan is tapping into.

Stop on by and check out my Dylan blog - It's a Chicagoland radio program from 1963. It's also the first ever known recording of Boots of Spanish Leather! An incredible interview and insane music - both for download.
