Grizzly Bear Goodness
The blogging universe is all over Grizzly Bear, a band that is half Beach Boys and half Animal Collective. The sunny psychedelic harmonies are immediately addictive.
Interesting that this started out as a D.I.Y. project on a handheld tape recorder. The debut record was made in Boston in 15 months. I'm surprised it didn't take longer with that sort of technology.
Edward Droste laid the groundwork in Boston. Then he met a multi-instrumentalist named Christopher Bear from Chicago, and the rest is history.
The Guardian says "It's like wandering through Brian Wilson's mind on a clear day in 1967."

i like grizzly bear, but i would have to say that animal collective is part beach boys part animal collective. if any band is poised to make the second coming of pet sounds it would be ac.
