Hot Chip This and Hot Chip That

Hot_chip

As much hype as Hot Chip has received in the last couple of weeks, not everybody is excited about their new release, Over and Over Remixes 2 EP. For every strong CMJ mention we read, we find another that has grown weary of their kitsch.

Despite that, there is no doubt these guys are riveting live. Even these mellow Toronto folk found a way to get funky, and dig the keyboard goodness. Be warned though, the set list rarely changes, and when you're dealing with programmed beats, spontaneity is limited. Maybe they are saving any potential jam sessions for their new album, due next year.

Now where are my parachute pants?
