Silversun Pickups have had a great year in 2006, thanks to one of the better albums of this year, Carnavas. To think that they were just friends who liked to jam, and had a terrible live show when they started out.
Some think they still do.
According to this review from SFist, they weren't great in San Francisco last night, but Wolfmother was.
Just listen to their record....it's the indie Smashing Pumpkins.

M. Ward's record Post-War is one of my favorite albums of 2006. He's been busy this year, recently making a guest appearance on Norah Jones' upcoming album. He'll be in Austrailia on tour as the new year arrives and he's also just completed a Jimmie Dale Gilmore cover.
Guests on the track include, Neko Case and Jim James of My Morning Jacket. It's due out on a re-release of Post-War due in February.

Meanwhile, Band of Horses just wrapped up a tour with fellow Sub Pop label mates Chad Vangaalen and Simon Dawes. They're currently basking in the success of their album Everything All The Time, which is featured in many Top 10 of the year lists, and rightfully so.
