So you throw yourself on a stool, in a commercial and look what happens. Talking about where ever Alicia Keys might be, doesn't hurt either.
Actually, it's the album, obviously that put Dylan over the top, as he released what maybe one of the most talked about records of the year, Modern Times.
It was Dylan's first album to hit #1 in 30 years, and his strongest chart debut on an opening week ever. Coming off of the brilliant record/documentary, No Direction Home and a book that he penned that was up for a Pulitzer in Chronicles, (think about how many times that has taken place), and Dylan might arguably be the hottest artist of the last few years.
One thing that wasn't so hot for Dylan this year-his Broadway show. Twyla Tharp couldn't rescue Dylan's heavy handed soundtrack set to dancing. It makes sense if you think about it. What would you rather see in that atmosphere? Billy Joel's "Tell Her About It," and "Uptown Girl," or "The Times They Are A Changin'" and "Maggie's Farm?"
Well that miscue was like a fly being swatted away. Dylan carried on with a sold out tour, performing his usual 150 dates, all over the world.
In new Dylan news, Rolling Stone magazine just named Modern Times Album Of The Year, one of several accolades he's bound to receive.
Bob Dylan-The Levees Gonna Break mp3 from Modern Times
The Format-Simple Twist Of Fate mp3 (Bob Dylan Cover) from Listen To Bob Dylan-A Tribute Album
James Blunt-I Want You mp3 (Dylan Cover) from Listen To Bob Dylan-A Tribute Album

James Blunt should never be allowed to cover anything. Ever. Or even sing at all.
Nice post otherwise though!
