Mew-Frengers

Frengers

The band that's as big as The Beatles in Danish country, are finally getting Frengers released in the US-Mew.

The album has been out in some countries for years, but the oddly named album will be released here this Tuesday. I hear the title has something to do with friends and strangers combined to make the word Frengers.

Sounds like something that would have fit right alongside Three's Company on ABC.

Mew nicely mix several influences together from a hodgepodge of bands like My Bloody Valentine and the Cocteau Twins. The opening track "Am I Wry? No" is the only song on the album that differs from that formula. By far, it's the knockout punch on the record with a great riff that's hard to turn away from.

Also check out tracks "156" and "Comforting Sounds."
