Robert Pollard Is Back-Which Actually Happens A Lot
It's hard to miss somebody when they're never gone.
Such may be the case with former Guided By Voices mastermind Robert Pollard, who has cranked out so many songs over his career, that he has no one to copy but himself.
Mr. Lo-Fi has released yet another album (gasp), his fourth of the year entitled, "Standard Gargoyle Decisions," right alongside another record-wait...let me get a hit of oxygen...I'm exhausted just talking about it......"Coast To Coast Carpet Of Love."
"Coast" is the more poppy affair with "Gargoyle" being a more straight ahead rock record.
He's had some stronger output as of late. Hopefully he can keep it going.

f*ckin' A, right? Did he break up GBV just to avoid sharing the profits? It's like he gets an afternoon off and decides "I think I'll record another album this evening", and it's cut and printed by next morning. And it's STILL decent music! DAMMIT!
