New Video: Shocking Pinks "Emily"

There's lots of womenz in this video, with a kid who looks like he's all of about 12.

Then he sees projected images on a screen of more women dancing, only to find they disappear as he reaches out for them.

He likes to lay on checkered flooring for some reason. Maybe that's what happens when women make you mental?

Kimya Dawson with Tiny Masters of Today "Book Song"

Kimya_2

The Juno Soundtrack is the #1 record in the country, thanks to Kimya Dawson's contribution on many tracks.

eMusic has made a free download available today, as Dawson and Tiny Masters of Today collaborated on the track "Book Song."

Hey, you've got to love two teenagers writing kick ass music, right?

New Music: DeVotchKa "Transliterator"

O_devotchka

DeVotchKa will return with a new album, A Mad and Faithful Telling on March 11th, and here they give us a taste of "Transliterator."

It's more of their mad smattering of influences culled together from many walks of life.

They also have a slew of dates, mostly in Europe that you can see here.

Video: Arctic Monkeys/Lightspeed Champion Cover The Strokes

Judging by all of the comments, not many are a fan of this Strokes cover of "Reptilia" from Arctic Monkeys and Lightspeed Champion.

Known as the Pun Lovin' Criminals, there's a nice vantage point at the side of the stage of all the action.

I thought it was fairly strong, but what do I know.

Cat Power aka Chan Marshall is having a pretty good day today.

Not only has her new covers album Jukebox scored her highest debut ever on Billboard's Top 200 Album Chart at #12, it also is the most successful debut for her label, Matador, in their 20 year history.

#3 in Canada ain't too shabby either.

Also, today marks the debut of her new website, which went live earlier today.

Raveonettes "Dead Sound" Remixed by Dandy Warhol’s Peter Holmstrom

Rave

You know what the sign of a good record is?

When bands remix several tracks off the album, and it hasn't even hit streets yet.

The Dandy Warhol's Peter Holmstrom, and The Village Green's Jeremey Sherrer have created this fine remix that manipulates the guitar track, while adding a synth-pop vibe to the equation.

Check it out....nice bass line too.

Also, check out their performance with Livedaily, as they did several tracks acoustic.

Thom Yorke Did Construction Work?!

Thomyorke200

Sometimes you need to find yourself.

Maybe you step away from the life that you're familiar with, so you can get a newfound appreciation for your day to day responsibilities.

Thom Yorke of Radiohead did that over the summer, forgoing the obvious vacation in favor of CONSTRUCTION?!!

Yorke said it made him realize how lucky he was to be in a band.

"It's not that f**king difficult (being in a band),” he told Rolling Stone.  "I went and worked on my friend's building site for two weeks over the summer, smashing bricks and stuff."

Then he gets on a piano and writes a lilting ballad.

It's all starting to make sense now.

Gnarls Barkley Release Album Title/Songs

Gnarlsb

Gnarls Barkley are said to return with a record titled The Odd Couple, due soon.

It's said to be less electronic based as a full band is backing them in the studio. Very nice.

Previews of the album have been leaked all over the place, including here, with their first single said to be, "Run." Nowhere near "Crazy," but fun to listen to.
