New Jim Noir "Don't You Worry"

Jim_noir_2

The great pop leanings of Jim Noir will return via Barsuk on April 6th, and we've recieved the sad news that he is only going to do a few dates in the U.S. this year.

He will play at the Viper Room in LA on 3/17, and on 3/20 in New York at The Living Room.

If you're going to SXSW, first you're a bastard, and second, Jim will be there too.

Jim Noir-Don't You Worry mp3 from Jim Noir due April 6th

Heroes Soundtrack Coming With Death Cab For Cutie, My Morning Jacket, Wilco and New Pornographers

Heroeszune_2

The new Heroes soundtrack is coming in three weeks, with a tracklist that features many indie heavyweights.

A lot of the material from these artists has never been released from the likes of Wilco, My Morning Jacket, Death Cab For Cutie, New Pornographers and many others.

Also, in a partnership with Zune, five podcasts from the soundtrack artists will be available, the first from Nada Surf tomorrow, with their contribution of "Weightless."

Animal Collective New EP Coming

Animal_coll

A new EP from Animal Collective will be released on May 5th called Water Curses.

The four song set was taken from the Strawberry Jam sessions.

Here's the tracklist:

Water Curses
Street Flash
Cobwebs
Seal Eyeing

New Video: Smashing Pumpkins "Superchrist"

Here's another video from the Smashing Pumpkins to not feature anybody, including Billy Corgan.

Apparently this track has never been released, and will be featured on a forthcoming Guitar Center comp.

New Video: Kevin Drew "Lucky Ones"

In Canada, Tom Cochrane is a big deal, so being a fellow Canadian, Kevin Drew invites him up on stage to start his show.

Mr "Lunatic Fringe," and "Life Is A Highway," rocks out with Drew with tequila for everybody.  That would be 600 shots for everybody, even without I.D. maybe?!

If you were under 18, this was your show baby.

New Video: What Made Milwaukee Famous "Sultan"

I've had the pleasure of hearing the new What Made Milwaukee Famous album in it's entirety, and all I can say is it's fantastic.

One of the albums many highlights is the new single "Sultan," which features the band in full sword fighting mode. Nice of the drummer to toss his drumsticks aside for swords too.

I'll stay away from the fencing action thanks, and let these guys handle the mummy outfits, with Lance Armstrong as a judge at the end. Very nice.

Stream New Tilly and the Wall "Beat Control"

Tilly_2

Sorry, no Tilly and the Wall trademark tap dancing on this track.

Jamie Pressnall, known for her lack of drum playing, with more tap toeing, steps aside for a programmed drum beat with the irresistible "Beat Control."

This is one of the better tracks I've heard this year, with a catchy synth vibe that will have you wanting to Cabbage Patch, even though you gave it up 15 years ago (hopefully).

The track will be available this Tuesday as part of a 7", three song single.

Expect a new record this summer.

New Jamie Lidell "Figured Me Out (LA Garage Mix)"

Jamiefiguredgarage225

The new Jamie Lidell record JIM is coming out in late April and with news of the European tour, and the "Little Bit of Feel Good Video," there's even more news-a remix.

Get the Figured Me Out (La Garage Mix), and everything Lidell here.

Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame Announces Presenters

Madonna

She still scares me.

The Rock and Roil Hall Of Fame have announced who will be inducting the latest class into this years hall.

Lou Reed will induct Leonard Cohen, Justin Timberlake will intro Madonna, and Billy Joel will bring John Mellencamp up on stage.

Also Tom Hanks will present the Dave Clark Five, Ben Harper will induct Little Walter and John Fogerty will do The Ventures.

Can we get Bono to induct somebody this year too? He's pretty good at this stuff.

The ceremony will take place March 10th in New York.

iTunes Is Now The Second Biggest U.S. Music Retailer

Itunes_big

As those cool little mom and pop stores keep thinning out, now comes another iTunes dominance report.

iTunes has now became the #2 best seller of music in the U.S., just a hair behind Walmart.

I just imagine going up to a clerk at Walmart to give me the inside scoop on the new Raveonettes record.

Yeah, maybe the gun rack would be better.

Best Buy was third, Target fourth.

That's what happens when you can buy in bulk. You can lower prices.
