Following in the footsteps of Madonna, U2 have signed a 12 year deal with Live Nation.

Video: R.E.M. Cover Editors "Munich"

This is a nice cover of R.E.M. and others jamming to an Editors track, "Munich."

They performed it on Radio One recently. Stipe misses a couple of notes, but for a one take shot, it's pretty strong.

Video: Justice "Phantom Part II"

Another video featuring food. This time of the green jello variety.

The official video from Justice came out about a month ago, but here comes another one.

Video: Be Your Own Pet "Food Fight"

I guess this song wasn't deemed too violent by the record company.

After all, it was just the other day that Universal claimed three songs couldn't be on the American release of Get Awkward from Be Your Own Pet because they were too violent.

It's ok for their whole roster of rap artists, however.

The band just got under the radar with "Food Fight," because throwing a plate of spaghetti from across the room may or may not harm someone. There's kind of a gray area there, I suppose.

Axl Rose Responds To Dr. Pepper Promotion

Axl_2

Axl Rose has responded to Dr. Pepper’s promotion that would give everyone a free Dr. Pepper (except Slash and guitarist Buckethead) if the GNR decade long Chinese Democracy ever sees the light of day.

Axl had this to say in a press release-

“We are surprised and very happy to have the support of Dr. Pepper with our album Chinese Democracy, as for us, this came totally out of the blue. If there is any involvement with this promotion by our record company or others, we are unaware of such at this time. And as some of Buckethead’s performances are on our album, I’ll share my Dr. Pepper with him.”

Poor Slash will actually have to purchase a Dr. Pepper, if we ever see this thing come out.

Maybe Axl has a future endorsement opportunity with these guys.

I could see him in a Mentos-type spot with a Dr. Pepper in hand. It has the potential to be hilarious.

Radiohead Headline Their Daydream Festival

The line-up for the Radiohead creation called the Daydream Festival has been announced which will perform in Barcelona on June 12th.

The two bands supporting them on their current round of tour dates, Bat For Lashes and Liars will be a part, with others like Low, Clinic and Modeselektor rounding out the bill.

A special performance of 'Off Computer' - a unique reinterpretation of their seminal OK Computer album, will be played by the 14-piece orchestra The Ensemble Nacional de Música Contemporánea de España.

Butch Vig To Produce The Subways Next Project

The_subways

Producer Butch Vig has agreed to make The Subways next record, according to reports.

Talk about striking gold.

The band grew up playing Nirvana.

Frontman Billy Lunn said to the Daily Star: "It's the furthest we've ever gone for a cuppa tea (to meet Vig in the U.S.) but it was well worth it.

"After five minutes I said to Butch 'you were made to make our next record' and he agreed."

"I can't believe our luck," Billy told the Star. "When we first started playing gigs most of our set consisted of Nirvana covers, now he is recording our music."
