Video: The Kills "Sour Cherry" (Live From Conan O'Brien)

Is it me, or does the mix sound a little odd on this?

The guitar seems to be way out in front, while the rest of the recorded track is buried in the mix.

At any rate, The Kills were on Conan last night doing "Sour Cherry."

At least their record, Midnight Boom is good.

New Video: Van She "Strangers"

A rolling bass line followed by a vocal exclusively ring through the new Van She track "Strangers."

By the time you get to the hook, you get synth and even the chink of xylophone.

This is a pretty strong track that you should check out.

Look for their new album V in August.

New Video: Radiohead "All I Need"

It may not be a problem in the United States, but globally slavery still very much exists.

Radiohead has teamed up with MTV to create a piece to end the practices of selling children for sex or working them to the bone at such a young age.

This video for "All I Need" will officially premiere tomorrow on MTV.

Thom Yorke had this to say:

"All power to MTV for taking this on because it's obviously going to be difficult for them in terms of the advertisers. With the "All I Need" video their lawyers had to beg to make sure there wasn't a single white sneaker with a logo on it because the implication would be a little too close."

New Video: Mudcrutch 'Orphan of the Storm"

Tom Petty, before he became a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer with the Heartbreakers, was down in Gainsville, Florida with his original band Mudcrutch.

After 30 years of inactivity he had Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench (who are already Heartbreakers) join up with his two other buddies who were a part of the band in the early 70's.

They have recorded a killer Americanaish album which came out today.

Petty even went back to playing bass like the old days, and Tom Leadon shares vocals as well.

Here's the premiere of their new video "Orphan of the Storm" from Spinner.

Video: Santogold "L.E.S. Artistes" (Live on Conan O'Brien)

She's been all the talk on the blogs for awhile now, and after Santogold's impressive gig at Coachella over the weekend, and her appearance on Conan last night, the buzz is about to get bigger.

Oh, and the fact that her new album comes out today doesn't hurt either.

New Music: Coldplay "Violet Hill"

The new Coldplay track slowly fades in and Chris Martin comes in to a mellow beat and a steady piano around the :30 mark.

For Coldplay it's actually a rockin' track, but for anybody else, it would be considered a ballad, if that makes any sense.

It's not as emotionally driven as something like "In My Place", but in a slow/mid tempo pace, it's not bad. Inevitably the song falls into a break in the middle of the song, where it's just Martin singing on a piano-then the band kicks in once again.

Video: Vampire Weekend "A-Punk" (live from Coachella)

OK-so Vampire Weekend isn't Prince live. I think that's been pretty well documented as of late.

They don't have the experience that Prince has either.  Hopefully they'll get there someday with some crazy pyro, and a blow-up pig that floats in the sky.

Good sound on this though.

New Video: Nine Inch Nails "Discipline"

Check it out. Supposedly, this is the official Nine Inch Nails video for the song that dropped on our laps, literally overnight last week, "Discipline."

It's Trent and the gang, including a guy with an Indian headrest jamming along in cartoon form.

Coldplay Album Cover Art Revealed

Artwork

You see that? That's the album cover for the new Coldplay record.

Interestingly enough, they only have Viva La Vida on the cover, even though they expanded the title to-"We Don't Want To Sound Like Ricky Martin So We're Calling It Viva La Vida Or Death To All His Friends."

Then again, that probably would have covered the whole painting. Nevermind.

Video: Prince "Creep" (Radiohead Cover Live From Coachella)

By all accounts, Prince was the highlight at Coachella, tearing his way through songs with his amazing guitar work, and his revival like atmosphere.

One moment, mentioned by many was his cover of Radiohead's "Creep," which he rocks like his life depends on it.

Hurry up and check it out before his legal team tears it off YouTube.

Not the best quality, but worth watching.
