Flight of the Conchords Announce Tour Dates

Flight of the Conchords’ are back on HBO and have now announced a tour to coincide with the show. Bret and Jemaine are also releasing album #2 arouind the tour on Sub Pop on April 14.

Coachella Announces Surprising Lineup

Look for Paul McCartney to headline, Amy Winehouse to play her first gig in the U.S. in a year, and My Blood Valentine to reunite for Coachella in April.

Video: Heartless Bastards "The Mountain" (Live From Austin City Limits)

Their new album is due out on Tuesday and they are getting some strong buzz. Thanks to their new single, "The Mountain," Ohio band Heartless Bastards are getting a lot of love, and their Black Keys like comparisons certainly don't hurt.

New Doves Track "Jetstream"

 

It's so great to say that new Doves music is here finally.

Their 4th album Kingdom of Rust will be released on April 7th, and is already being called one of the ten most important records of the year by NME.

A little different for them, the track "Jetstream" is a sonic landscape of drum programming, synths and guitar with layers scattered about. A strong track and a great driving at night track.

Lynyrd Skynyrd's Piano Player Dies

Lynyrd Skynyrd's original piano player Billy Powell died last night at his home in Jacksonville, Florida. He was 56. Powell called 911 last night, but was pronounced dead after rescue crews unsuccessfully performed CPR. He reportedly had an appointment with a heart specialist on Monday. Nowguitarist Gary Rossington is the only surviving member of the original lineup.
