Here's my Classic Rock Music News for one of the stations I work for, 96.9 The Eagle in Sacramento. Today I discuss Bob Dylan doing television, Mellencamp working himself to death and new stuff from Heart.
Manchester Orchestra were on David Letterman last night, with a hoarse Letterman saying the band offered him a seat in the band.
Mean Everything to Nothing, the new record from the band is one of the bigger selling albums out right now, thanks in part to this track, "I've Got Friends."
Sonic Youth's new record, The Eternal sounds pretty good. They threw out another new track on Jools Holland the other day, "What We Know," another driving rocker from the album.
There's a nice back and forth between Kim Gordon and Lee Ranaldo that's worth watching.
He decided to do it Hootenanny style on a solo trek, and now there's a DVD of the action, which is out now. It's called Not Alone -- Rivers Cuomo & Friends Live at Fingerprints, which hit stores today as a DVD and EP.
Aah, screw it. When you're at this point in Wilco's career, who needs a spiffy album title. Maybe the boys didn't feel like arguing with each other. So, the new album is called Wilco (The Album), featuring "Wilco, the Song" as the opening track.
You think the Wilco song will be like The Monkees TV theme?
"Not Fair" is one of my favorite tracks off of Lily Allen's latest record It's Not Me, It's You. It's as close as she can come to Nashville, with heavy tongue and cheek throughout, especially in the video.
Here she does the track on the BBC, Jools Holland show.
