New She and Him Record Coming Next Year

Mrs. Ben Gibbard, otherwise known as Zooey Deschanel, confirms that the new She and Him record is done, they are mixing it, and look for it next year.

She also says they will continue using the "Volume" theme for album titles. (They are going all Travelling Wilburys on us).

Take A Look at the New Spoon Album Cover

There is the new Spoon album cover for their forthcoming record Transference, due January 19th in the States.

The original photo was sold at an auction at Christie's for $86,500 last year. The guys have taste. I wonder if Ansel Adams will be incorporated on their next cover.

The new Spoon single comes out tomorrow, digitally btw. Look for it.

NME Does Their 100 Tracks of the Decade

NME has delivered a pretty solid list here of their Top 100 Tracks of the Decade.

Inside the Top 5, it's pretty tough to argue with their choices. It's when you go outside of that, when things can be debated.

Q Magazine Does Their Top Albums of 2009

Here comes another list from the U.K. This time it's Q Magazine's turn, as they chimb in on what the Best Albums of the Year are. Do people who do these lists automatically go for shock value at #1? Also, a very British list, with U2 in the Top 10, and the usual Arctic Monkeys love fest. Muse at #7?!

Clapton, Page and Aerosmith Supergroup Rumors Shot Down

Engineer Kevin Shirley has updated his blog post from yesterday, saying that the Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page and Aerosmith supergroup rumors are false.

It's too bad. That's about the only way that Aerosmith can carry on without Steven Tyler. Make something as massive as humanly possible.

SXSW Announce A Slew Of Bands Performing

SXSW have announced a ton of additions to their lineup via their website. Taking place for a few days in March, starting March 17th in Austin, TX. No jaw droppers announced yet, but some good bands like Deer Tick and Frightened Rabbit will show up.
