I've asked a few radio industry friends about the debate of playing Cee-Lo Green's"F-You" on the radio, with the distilled "Forget You" version. I don't see how you can do it, and keep the heart of the song intact. Not to mention a few N-words and "shit" being thrown in at least a few more times.
However, with 3 million YouTube streams, before the proper video release and a Top 25 appearance on iTunes, it's hard to ignore.
Without all of the lyrical problems, the song itself is a hit single. However, in today's radio climate of sensitivity, it's likely going to scare progammers away. Not to mention the Hot AC/Top 40 formats that it's fit for-won't touch it, because you're mostly dealing with soccer Mom's and their daughters.
