She’s like Loretta Lynn at times with the twang. Then there are times, like on this track, “Sleep for You” she sounds exactly like Neko Case. How can you not think of Case with the reverb backing her? If you’re into Alt-Country at all, then you should check out Nikki Lane. On her new album Walk of Shame, there’s also a cover of the Muddy Waters classic “I Can’t Be Satisfied.”
Not bad for a high school dropout.
