It would have been cool to be invited to the White House 4th party, where Jimmy Fallon MC'd, and the Foo Fighters did six songs. ne of those six, a new track that will be a part of a greatest hits package toward the end of the year called, "Wheels."
In case you missed it over the long, 4th of July weekend, the New York Times sat down with Wilco's Jeff Tweedy.
Odd that the interview took place at a backyard barbeque.
Tweedy seems a lot more relaxed than he did in the old days.
Two new songs from The Twilight Sad are available through Fat Cat Records, "I Became A Prostitute" and "In the Blackout."
The label says that "Prostitute" is "reminiscent of ‘Heaven Or Las Vegas’ era-Cocteau Twins, ‘Wish’-era Cure or My Bloody Valentines’ ‘Loveless’ period."
Franz Ferdinand have a new video for "Can't Stop Feeling," with some snazy dance moves.
I like the faces they make while they are doing those. It's not exactly what you'd call sexy.
The OK Magazine Michael Jackson cover is brewing up some major controversy.
The cover has Jackson's last picture of him alive, laying on a stretcher. The magazine is rumored to have paid somewhere in the $500,000 range for the shot.
Diddy and Jay-Z are said to be pissed. It doesn't end there.

This is a very cool fan video of Death Cab For Cutie's "Little Bribes." Somebody used time lapse stop motion technology to shoot everything from a city at night, to rocks forming words.

The Dead Weather have put together a film for their song "Treat Me Like Your Mother," which will air on Cinemax July 11th at 9:55pm.
The trailer has Jack White cocking a gun and walking across a field. Then the message, "and they say romance is dead" appears on the screen.
Billboard's latest Top Selling Album Figures are out with, of course, Michael Jackson dominating.
However, Regina Spektor made an impressive showing at #3 for Far and Dinosaur Jr. making a decent showing at #29.
The new Mew EP, No More Stories is said to be a teaser for their full-length, No More Stories Are Told Today I'm Sorry They Washed Away No More Stories the World Is Grey I'm Tired Let's Wash Away.
Out on August 25th, the new EP really doesn't show off the band as much as I would have liked. A couple of one minute instrumentals do very little but fill for the EP.
The one track that really stands out is "Repeaterbeater."
It's what you would expect from the band, and carries a nice punch. Check it out below.
