Spaced out rock that at times plays out like a drug users soundtrack, West Indian Girl, who's name comes, not so surprisingly from a potent strain of early street LSD, returns with their new release this week, 4th and Wall.
Vocalist/guitarist Robert James says about the album title, "4th & Wall is our hidden sanctuary. "It's in an old warehouse surrounded by a humble community of homeless people living in cardboard boxes and tents. They're our captive audience, listening to us every night in the rain, cold and sweltering heat. We play for them as much for ourselves. It's the place where we conjure up spirits and manifest visions--visions of a better place."
In other words, it's playing to rat infested, cold narrow backstreets, but creating something that is completely on the other end of the universe.
Beautiful vocals, strong guitar work on top of pulsating rhythms. Check it out.
